Our client a rapidly growing fresh produce company based just outside of Cambridge is looking for a new Warehouse Operative to join their team.

Main duties include:

  • Customer order split and bulk picking
  • Filling in paperwork
  • Stock control
  • Van/lorry loading and unloading.

Valid forklift licence is an advantage, however for the right candidate, in-house forklift license training will be provided. Shift starts between 19:00 PM and 20:00 PM Sunday to Friday (Saturday is always a day off + another day off in a week).

Remuneration - Starting at £8.00 per hour rising to £9.00 per hour following successful completion of 3 month probationary period.

Our Client based near Cambridge is looking for Warehouse Operatives to assist during their busy period. This is a temporary position but could be permanent for the right candidate. The role will include working as part of a busy team preparing for the distribution of customer orders in a professional and efficient way.

 

Working hours - 7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 1pm Friday. Overtime is paid after 40 hours at time and a half. During peak times, overtime will be compulsory.

Main duties:

  • Fold garments appropriately and attach the relevant ticket
  • Update the system under Notes to specify ‘packed as requested’
  • Take responsibility for the quality and efficiency/pace of own work (normally batches of 30 gowns to a hamper; 50 hoods to a tray)
  • Take on all other duties as required within the Packing section.
  • Moving/wheeling/ manual lifting of hampers and trays is required, either on own or in assisting others
  • Assistance with other section duties as required (e.g Dispatch)
  • To take responsibility for self and others in line with the Company Health & Safety policy

Team Leader

Our Client, based in Ely is a well established international organisation specializing in the photonics technologies industry.  For this role, you will be one of a group of Team Leaders working within the production team of the Business Unit responsible for the design and manufacture of a wide range of high precision motion control mechanical stages and associated control electronics. 

As Team Leader you will be responsible for over-seeing your assembly team and be up to speed on exactly what the assembly team are doing and the shift WIP at any time.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the assembly team are working to relevant Health & Safety standards including PPE requirements and safe working practices
  • Deal with all staff issues as they happen
  • Participate in daily production meetings to discuss resource plan and any potential issues
  • Implement daily production plan provided by the planning team
  • Daily communication with all team members to assess possible throughput both by the individual assembler and team wide.
  • Ensure any production flow issues are quickly identified and escalated to the Production Manager for same day fix
  • Identify any issues that arise from the daily plan and ensure solutions are put in place for the next shift and are communicated effectively
  • Ensure all shift SOP changes are added to the SharePoint system before the end of the shift
  • Ensure that all rejected parts are out of the production areas by the end of the shift
  • Ensure that any short kits are returned to stores by the end of the shift
  • Monitor 5S activities to ensure that they are happening and that all tools and jigs are in the correct place

Desirable skills and knowledge:

Previous experience at supervisory/team leader level

Knowledge of Mechanical Manufacturing assembly techniques with the ability to interpret mechanical / engineering and assembly drawings

A positive attitude with a desire for continuous improvement

A flexible approach to work requests – prepared to go the extra mile to get the job done
