Our Client, a market leader in the manufacture of diagnostic test kits are looking for Production Operatives to join their team based just outside Ely.
The role will be on a temporary basis and you will be working across 3 different departments.


Bottling & Packing:
Main duties are the bottling, processing and packing of finished kits. You will be utilising and maintaining mechanical equipment to facilitate this.


Primary Production Laboratory
Main duties will be to assist in the manufacture of liquid solutions from raw chemicals.


Microarray Laboratory
Main duties will be to assist in the manufacture of Microarray slides from raw materials.
In all areas you will be required to record complete and accurate documentation, label items accurately, ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy and organised, ensure line clearance for all processes, control stock levels including use of computerised stock systems and computerised document control systems.

The role

Market Supervisor

We have a fantastic opportunity for a customer focused, good communicator who is able to work under pressure and has a proactive “can-do” attitude, to work as part of the Ely Markets Team.  The main purpose of the role will be to supervise the set-up, operation and close down of regular Ely Markets, additional markets and special events, with particular attention to regulatory and health and safety issues.

Main responsibilities: 

  • To ensure compliance with the Ely Markets terms and conditions and to effectively communicate relevant issues to the Markets Officers. 
  • Work with the markets admin team for input of attendance data including taking attendance records, regularly measuring market pitches to ensure the appropriate pitch fee is charged and ensuring all monies collected are recorded and receipted in accordance with procedure.
  • Ensure Traders stalls are fit for purpose & appropriately set up 
  • Undertake basic compliance checks and report any issues to Market Officers
  • Liaise with market traders and shopkeepers on market days to maintain good relationships and resolve any issues
  • To assist with the organisation of special markets & events

Experience  / Qualifications

The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills to maintain and develop good working relationships.  Experience of working in a market or event environment is desirable along with an awareness of health and safety practices.

This is a part-time temporary position circa 25 hours per week inc. Saturdays & occasional Sundays & based mainly outdoors therefore will be in all weather conditions

Our client one of the regions most advanced engineering companies is currently looking for a Milling Setter Operator to join their busy night shift team based in Witchford, just outside Ely, Cambridgeshire.

The role

Working with the production team you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision metal and plastic components ensuring quality standards are met to meet the customer's requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Setting conventional  CNC milling machines, following correct company procedures and methods to maintain consistency

  • Machine components to a very high standard and be responsible for own quality
  • Identify best suited tooling and manufacturing methods

The Role

Working within the Production department dealing with extrusion, laying-up, braiding and any other processes that are required for the manufacture of sub-sea cables. 

Main Responsibilities:

Operate machinery in a safe & productive manner

Ensuring all work is to the correct quality and manufacturing spec and delivered on time

Maintain cleanliness & tidiness throughout according to H&S requirements
