Goods In Inspector

We are currently looking for a Goods-in Inspector to join our clients Quality Engineering team. 

The successful candidate should be organised, an excellent communicator and have good computer skills.  

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Approving incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable   material using Standard ISO2859 sampling procedures.
  • Adapt inspection measuring devices and procedures where necessary e.g Designing jigs and fixtures
  • Programming the CMM for single parts, batches and first article inspection
  • Perform gage repeatability and reliability studies with Gage R&R statistical tools with our vendors.
  • Design jigs and fixtures for multiple batches, single inspection and first article inspection
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database, raising NCR’s and corrective actions.
  • Maintain the safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Requirements:

  • Previous training in metrology and use of measuring tools and equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Experience in to programming and full use of CMM
  • Understanding of 3D geometric tolerancing with CAD (Solid Works)

Our client based just outside of Ely is looking for a Mould-shop Operative to start with them ASAP. The job will involve operating a moulding machine in order to produce plastic moulds. For the ideal candidate, this is a temporary - permanent vacancy. Minimal experience required!

6am - 2pm/ 2pm - 12am, rotating weeks. 

Pay-rate is dependant on age. There will also be a 15% shift bonus.

We are looking for motivated individuals with a proven track record in full life cycle product design and development. 

The successful applicant will have experience taking product development from inception all the through to full scale production.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • To design and realise cost-effective mechanical mechanisms for precision motion control and vibration isolation systems
  • To develop product specifications with colleagues, often including those from other parts of the global business
  • Producing details of specifications and outline designs
  • To develop, assemble, test and evaluate theoretical designs
  • To discuss and solve complex problems with team members, sub-contractors, suppliers and manufacturing departments
  • Making or recommending modifications to prototypes following test results
  • To make sure a product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating conditions
  • Planning and overseeing the product development.
  • Considering implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints
  • Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering team

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven hands on experience of product design.
  • A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply this to practical problems
  • The ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
  • An understanding of machinery directive safety legislation
  • A creative ability with attention to detail
  • Experience with 3D and 2D modelling software
  • Experience of producing high quality manufacturing drawings containing full tolerance and detailed finishing specifications
  • Experience with precision component design to micron level tolerances
  • Several years’ experience of full life cycle product design

Qualifications:

  • A good degree in mechanical engineering with masters or PhD preferred. Other candidates would be considered if they have significant experience with small precision mechanisms.
