Production Operative

Standard hours: 0700-1600 Monday to Thursday with a 30 minute lunch break, and 0700-1300 Friday (Friday afternoons to be worked on a rota basis). Overtime (for which additional pay will be given) may also be required in times of high activity.

Role purpose: To work as part of the Production team packing & preparing for the distribution of customer orders in a professional and efficient way, carrying out all required tasks.


Key areas of responsibility

Production

  • Setting up packing desk with the correctly embossed mounts
  • Checking quality and quantity of photographs are correct
  • Checking the address details are correct
  • Transferring information onto the Re-Order form
  • Packing photographs into mounts and envelopes
  • Returning mounts to the correct pallet or A-Z shelves
  • Assisting with frame packing when required

Computer

  • Scanning Sales Dockets

General

  • Manual handling of stock and other materials
  • Manual lifting of trays of work onto yorks
  • Sorting dockets into numerical order
  • Assisting with stock take
  • Assisting making up flat-pack boxes and corners when required
  • Keeping work and kitchen areas clean and tidy

Training others

  • Assisting with training temporary staff as required

Project Engineer

Our client, a leader in the UK’s oil & gas industry, is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to be responsible for their engineering requirements, enabling the successful completion of the project. The successful candidate will provide control and report on the project, ensuring that technical documentation meets the requirements to allow manufacturing to be completed to the client’s expectations.

Main Responsibilities

 • Manage the engineering of the project/package

• Ensure all phases of engineering are carried out to meet the project schedule and budget

• Lead Design Review, Constructability & HAZOP, P&ID, GA, Process, Mechanical, E&I, Controls meetings etc.

• Manage implications of technical changes and ensure overall design integrity

• Provide technical support to the Proposals team

• Provide support to testing and manufacturing inspections

• Report on key engineering deliverables (forecast man-hours, work pack completion dates, major bought-outs etc.)

• Ensure that the design meets all customer specifications, industry standards and codes

• Ensure that technical aspects of documentation meet the project requirements

• Achieve milestone dates

• Invoice approval.

Please note this role is office-based and involves a mixture of project administration, engineering, organisation and management.

Our client based just outside of Littleport is looking for a Mould-shop Operative to start with them ASAP. The job will involve operating a rotational moulding machine in order to produce plastic moulds. For the ideal candidate, this is a temporary - permanent vacancy. Quality Engineer

Our client one of the regions most advanced engineering companies is currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join their busy team based in Witchford, just outside Ely, Cambridgeshire.

The role

Working with the production department you will be responsible for the programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines ensuring quality standards are met to meet the customer's requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support management team in ensuring adherence to QMS - ISO 9001:2008. Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues in a timely manner and minimise impact on quality standards, in accordance with NCR process.
  • Ensure all First Off (FOIR) and First Article (FAIR) Inspection Reports are carried out to the required standard.
  • Perform Final Inspection and Goods Inwards (raw material and sub-con) Inspections.
  • Identify non-conformances to drawings and/or specifications.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising data. Identify Non-Conformance trends and make recommendations.
  • Support Production Manager in identifying root cause of quality failures and instigating corrective and preventative actions in line with NCR process.
  • Conduct internal quality audits, when required.
  • Promote quality awareness through engagement/training.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement activities
  • Ensure calibration standards are maintained for all measuring equipment.
  • Support Production manager in ensuring robust Quality Control standards and procedures are implemented and maintained.

Requirements:

  • Very good knowledge of engineering drawings, including tight tolerances and geometric tolerance
  • Highly competent in the use of hand held measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers etc.)
  • Experience with using shadow graph style measuring equipment
  • Good IT skills, including MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to produce detailed procedures/work instructions
  • DNC software knowledge
  • Competent in the use of CMM equipment
  • Good knowledge of ISO standards: ISO9001.

Desirable but not essential

  • CAD/CAM software knowledge
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices and ability to apply Lean tools and techniques.
